Terms of Service

Last updated 12 October 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form an agreement between you and Ruffle3D ("Ruffle3D", "we", "us"). They cover your use of this website and your download of Ruffle3D. Your use of the Ruffle3D software itself is covered by its open-source licence, the GNU General Public License v3 or later; nothing in these Terms limits the rights that licence gives you.

1. Accepting these Terms

By using this website or downloading Ruffle3D, you agree to these Terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it, and "you" means that organisation.

2. Free software

Ruffle3D is free and open source software under the GNU General Public License v3 or later. You may use it for any lawful purpose, including commercial work, without paying a fee or creating an account, and study, change and share it under that licence. There are no paid plans, subscriptions or licence keys.

3. Your rights

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection law.

4. Your content

You own the designs you create with Ruffle3D. Ruffle3D runs on your device. We don't store, access or claim any rights in your projects. If you send us a project file for support, we use it only to help you and delete it when the request is resolved.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: misuse this website or attempt to disrupt it; distribute Ruffle3D in breach of its licence (the GNU GPL v3 or later); or use Ruffle3D in breach of applicable law, including export control and sanctions laws.

6. Intellectual property

The Ruffle3D software is open source: you may use, change and share it under the GNU General Public License v3 or later. The Ruffle3D name, logo and this website are owned by Ruffle3D. Open-source components are licensed under their own terms; see the open-source notices.

7. Disclaimers

Ruffle3D is a design tool. You are responsible for checking that your designs are fit for their intended purpose, including any engineering, safety and regulatory requirements. Except as stated in the licence, and to the extent permitted by law, the website and software are provided "as is".

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill. Because Ruffle3D and this website are free, our total liability under these Terms is limited to US$50. These limits don't apply where liability cannot be limited by law.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. For material changes, we will post a notice on this website at least 30 days before they take effect. The date at the top of this page shows when the Terms were last updated.
